🚒Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is proposing the closure of 8 on-call fire stations. One of these is the Ramsbury Fire station, which will have a major impact on safety in Aldbourne and the surrounding area. 🚒
The Fire Authority is considering the proposal at their meeting on the 10th February. The background papers being considered at the meeting can be viewed on their website. https://www.dwfire.org.uk/fire-rescue-authority/meetings/fire-rescue-authority/ Select 10 February, 2026 and then Appendix 1 for Ramsbury.
The FBU are encouraging people to attend this meeting to show their support for the 8 stations under threat (see poster for details) and are also encouraging people to sign a petition against the closures.

The Parish Council has already written individually to all 18 Fire Authority Members, as well as Cllr Sheppard and Danny Kruger MP, to express concern about the proposed closure of Ramsbury Fire Station, and should its closure be approved will be responding to the public consultation, which will run from 13 Feb – 15 May (more details will be published once known).
