Aldbourne Covid-19 Help

A small group of us are working to try and coordinate village responses to the current crisis and share information about what is available to support you. At present, the group includes:

Alison Edmonds, Parish Council M:07932 008116

Joanna Hobart, Community Contacts M:07774 577730

Deletta Heasman, Meals-on-Wheels/LINK M:07709 235361

Sue Rendell, Aldbourne Post Office T: 540255

Carey Wallin, Lunch Club M:07799 110801

Every household should have received a note through their door with a phone number of both their community contact, and also Joanna, if you need help at this time.

If you have not received one, please contact/message

Joanna on M: 07774 577730 or T: 540418

If you are someone, or living with someone, who has been asked to stay at home for at least 12 weeks, or are self-isolating and need help, please do let us know. Text message where possible if you can. Please let us have your name(s), address and phone number.

You may need delivery of food and other essential items such as prescriptions to your doorstep if other arrangements aren’t in place – or you may just want a daily friendly phone call to check you are OK. If you are stuck at home yourself you could be that friendly caller.

If you are well and would like to volunteer, please let Joanna have your contact details and preferred method of communication. As our usual organised and other social activities in the village aren’t available, you may have a range of skills and ideas you can offer to help us all deal with feelings of social isolation as time goes on. It’s an ideal opportunity to find out what’s out there to keep us all connected!

We will be maintaining contact lists for both groups so we can match people together to keep it local and minimise travel as much as possible. You can ask for your details to be deleted or amended at any time.

By working together and keeping each other safe, we will become a better and stronger community. Let’s do this!

SHOP LOCAL – both the pubs and PO cafe are offering take away services. The Co-op has daily chilled deliveries. The PO stores can take daily orders for bread, fresh fruit and veg boxes from Fisher of Newbury, and meat from Sumblers in Marlborough.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE – 2 metres (6ft 6 in) apart, especially in shops

STAY AT HOME – only go out for essential purposes

IF SELF ISOLATING AND LIVING WITH SOMEONE – follow the NHS advice to keep away from each other and avoid shared spaces as much as possible; don’t share a bed if possible; don’t share any towels; open windows in shared spaces if possible; use a dishwasher if you have one or dry everything thoroughly if hand washing; and clean shared surfaces every time you use them
