Operation Nightingale 2024 Dig

Operation Nightingale are carrying out another archaeological dig on the football field and the bottom end of Rectory Wood (the section nearest Rectory Wood road) to see what further artefacts they can find in connection with the 101st Airborne (Band of Brothers). Personnel and equipment will start arriving from today and the digs will take place between 8-15 May. There is a village open day on Sunday 12th May, from 11.00 am – 3.00 pm for everyone to come and see what has been found, and to share any items and information you may have with the dig team.
